Collected at your door, anywhere in Andorra

We start where you are staying: a hotel on Avinguda Meritxell, an apartment in Escaldes, a chalet in La Massana or Ordino. Choose Andorra la Vella in the search box if you are in the capital or nearby, or pick your resort, and write the exact address in the booking form.

Before the trip, you receive your driver’s name and phone number and the vehicle details by email. On the day, the driver waits outside your accommodation at the agreed time; you get 15 minutes of free waiting at hotels and other addresses, which is plenty to settle the bill and bring the cases down.

What time to leave for your flight

From Andorra la Vella to El Prat it is about 200 km, roughly 2 h 50 without traffic. From Arinsal or Pal add about a quarter of an hour, from Soldeu around 25 minutes and from Pas de la Casa a little more than half an hour. On top of the drive, allow for the Spanish customs post at La Farga de Moles and for check-in and security at the airport.

As a rule of thumb, for a European flight we suggest being picked up at least five and a half hours before departure from the capital, and six hours from the resorts. For long-haul flights, add another hour. On Sunday afternoons, at the end of bank holidays and during the Christmas and Easter weeks the border can queue for a long time, so leave earlier on those days. When you book, tell us your flight time and we will confirm whether your pick-up time leaves a sensible margin.

Spanish customs on the way back

Leaving Andorra means entering Spain and the European Union customs territory again, so the Spanish customs post checks what you are carrying. There are duty-free allowances for tobacco, alcohol, perfume and other goods bought in Andorra; anything above them must be declared. The limits change from time to time, so check the current ones before you shop. Your driver stops at the post when asked and you only need to have the receipts and your documents to hand.

Everyone travelling needs a valid ID card or passport, children included. If you travel on a Schengen visa, remember that you left the Schengen area when you entered Andorra and you enter it again at this border: your visa must allow more than one entry. Our travel guide explains all of this in more detail, with links to the official sources.

Not only El Prat: Barcelona, Girona and Reus

Most travellers fly home from Barcelona-El Prat, and your driver takes you to the departures area of the right terminal, T1 or T2. You can also book the trip to your hotel in Barcelona, to Sants station or to a cruise departure, choosing Barcelona city as the destination.

If your flight leaves from Girona or Reus, choose that airport in the search box and you will see the fixed price instantly. If a trip ever shows no price, message us on WhatsApp and we prepare it for you.

Luggage, skis and groups

Enter the real number of passengers, suitcases and ski or snowboard bags. With that, the search box only shows vehicle categories where everything fits, each with its fixed price. Ski equipment is added as special luggage at its published price, so the total you see is the total you pay. Child seats are available on request for a small supplement.

A larger group, such as two families or a school ski trip, can travel in several vehicles of up to 8 passengers that leave together and arrive at the airport at the same time.

The border

Entering Andorra and coming back: what to know

Andorra is not in the European Union: there is a customs post on the CG-1 (Riu Runer, 848 m), between La Seu d’Urgell and Sant Julià de Lòria. Going in is usually quick; coming back, there are queues on Sunday afternoons and at the end of long weekends.

Coming back to Spain (allowances per person)

Under-17s have no tobacco or alcohol allowance. Anything above the allowance must be declared at customs.

Coming back to Spain (allowances per person)
Tobacco300 cigarettes, or 150 cigarillos, or 75 cigars, or 400 g of rolling tobacco
Alcohol1.5 l over 22%, or 3 l under 22%, or 5 l of wine
Coffee and tea1 kg of coffee; 200 g of tea
Perfume75 g of perfume and 375 ml of eau de toilette
Other goodsUp to €900 (manufactured) and €300 (agricultural)

Going in

  • A valid ID card or passport for every passenger, children included.
  • If you need a Schengen visa, it must be double or multiple entry: you re-enter the EU on the way back.
  • Minors travelling without their parents: their own document and a signed authorisation.
  • From 1 November to 15 May, winter equipment is compulsory on every road in Andorra; with snow, colour phases set speed limits.
