What time to leave
From Andorra la Vella it is about 198 km to Girona Airport (around 2 h 55 without traffic) and about 195 km to Reus Airport (around 3 h 20, along the C-14 and the inland roads). Add the Spanish customs post, check-in and security. For a European flight we suggest leaving at least five and a half hours before departure from the capital, and more from the resorts or on bank holiday weekends.

The border
Entering Andorra and coming back: what to know
Andorra is not in the European Union: there is a customs post on the CG-1 (Riu Runer, 848 m), between La Seu d’Urgell and Sant Julià de Lòria. Going in is usually quick; coming back, there are queues on Sunday afternoons and at the end of long weekends.
Coming back to Spain (allowances per person)
Under-17s have no tobacco or alcohol allowance. Anything above the allowance must be declared at customs.

Going in
- A valid ID card or passport for every passenger, children included.
- If you need a Schengen visa, it must be double or multiple entry: you re-enter the EU on the way back.
- Minors travelling without their parents: their own document and a signed authorisation.
- From 1 November to 15 May, winter equipment is compulsory on every road in Andorra; with snow, colour phases set speed limits.
