The route

Your driver picks the road according to traffic and weather: the C-16 through the Cadí tunnel, or the C-14 via Ponts and La Seu d’Urgell. The last stretch enters Andorra at the La Farga de Moles border crossing.

Allow around three hours from the airport to Andorra la Vella. In high season and on bank holidays the border can add some waiting time.

Planner

What time will you reach your hotel?

Tell us when you land and where you are going. We tell you when you will leave the airport and the window in which you arrive, allowing for the Cadí route, the border and the day’s traffic.

Estimated arrival

16:30 – 17:15

  • Pick-up around 13:45: about 45 min to get out of the airport (we wait 60 min free of charge).
  • Driving: 169 to 194 min (200 km).
  • Border and traffic margin: 0–15 min.

What your transfer includes

  • Meet and greet at arrivals with a name sign, or pick-up at your hotel or home in Barcelona.
  • Flight tracking and one hour of free waiting at the airport.
  • The right vehicle for your group: up to 8 passengers per vehicle, and several vehicles for larger groups.
  • VAT invoice and 24/7 support in four languages.

At the border

Andorra has customs controls. Keep your documents at hand and remember the allowances when you return to Spain. Your driver knows the crossing and will tell you what you need.

Choose your destination in Andorra

Each destination has its own final stretch: the CG-1 to the capital, the CG-2 towards Grandvalira and the CG-3 and CG-4 towards La Massana. Each page covers the route, the times and where we drop you.

Why a private transfer rather than the bus

The scheduled bus between Barcelona and Andorra is a good option if you travel alone with little luggage. With family, skis or a flight that may be delayed, a private transfer makes sense: you leave when you land, not when the bus leaves; you do not haul suitcases between the terminal and the stop; and you arrive at your hotel door, not at the Andorra la Vella bus station.

What is more, the price is per vehicle, not per person, so a group shares it; and you get an invoice, passenger insurance and a driver who knows the route in winter.

The border

Entering Andorra and coming back: what to know

Andorra is not in the European Union: there is a customs post on the CG-1 (Riu Runer, 848 m), between La Seu d’Urgell and Sant Julià de Lòria. Going in is usually quick; coming back, there are queues on Sunday afternoons and at the end of long weekends.

Going in

  • A valid ID card or passport for every passenger, children included.
  • If you need a Schengen visa, it must be double or multiple entry: you re-enter the EU on the way back.
  • Minors travelling without their parents: their own document and a signed authorisation.
  • From 1 November to 15 May, winter equipment is compulsory on every road in Andorra; with snow, colour phases set speed limits.

Coming back to Spain (allowances per person)

Under-17s have no tobacco or alcohol allowance. Anything above the allowance must be declared at customs.
