The route to Escaldes
From Barcelona Airport it is about 202 km to Escaldes, between two and three-quarter hours and three hours without traffic. The vehicle heads for Manresa, goes through the Cadí tunnel, passes La Seu d’Urgell and enters Andorra at the La Farga de Moles border. Escaldes begins where Andorra la Vella ends: about 2 km further along the CG-2.
Central Escaldes has one-way streets and pedestrian stretches on Avinguda Carlemany. The driver drops you at your hotel entrance or the nearest point a car can reach; if you are staying in an apartment, add the exact address and building number when you book.

What is in Escaldes
Escaldes is the thermal-water parish: the Caldea spa is here, its glass spire visible from the main road. Avinguda Carlemany continues Avinguda Meritxell from Andorra la Vella and together they form the country’s main shopping street; see shopping in Andorra.
The footpath into the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape since 2004, starts in Escaldes, and the Engolasters road climbs to the lake of the same name. In winter, the Grandvalira slopes are 20 to 30 minutes away along the CG-2.
Late arrivals, luggage and children
We track your flight and you get 60 minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time. If you land late at night, the driver drops you at the door even if reception has closed: let your hotel know your estimated arrival. The price depends on the day and time of the transfer, and you see it in full in the booking box before paying.
